The weather is all clear on the far north coast. The skies are blue and the water pristine. Plenty of fish to be caught and surf to be ridden.  Come and see the legendary Pacific Coast……

Some much needed rain on the North Coast….but it didn’t stop people lining up for their Christmas seafood at the Prawn Shack at Yamba Marina….the new outlet for fresh seafood is open everyday (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day)…..come on down for the best fresh seafood…

The Prawn Shack has opened at the marina. The best ocean and school prawns for sale direct from the trawlers!!!!!! Run by the Clarence Rivers Fishermens’ Co-op this is THE place to get the best prawns on the east coast. Yamba Prawns are world famous…now you can buy them fresh and straight from the trawlers. Yamba Marina is proud to be home to The Prawn Shack……..!!!

Don’t forget that you can hire cars, trucks, utes and busses from us at Yamba Marina. We are the Thrifty agent for the region and are the only fulltime car/truck rental business in the Yamba/Lower Clarence River area. We are open 7 days a week (except Christmas and Boxing day) so if you need additional transport give the marina a call on 02 6646 9898 to make a booking. All our three and six ton trucks have hydraulic lifts on the back so loading and unloading is easy. For the three ton truck you only need a car license to drive it. It’s also automatic.

Level 1 water restrictions are now in place in the Clarence Valley.

What they means to us at the marina is that we must be very careful how we use water.  Level 1 restrictions largely cover garden watering etc. There are no restrictions on industrial and commercial use HOWEVER we chose to limit our water use.

IF you need to wash your boat down USE A BUCKET for the water and only use the hose to finish the job off. Please do NOT leave hoses running at any stage.

The Clarence Valley is a part of NSW that is declared to be in INTENSE DROUGHT so lets all do our best to save water.

Please have shorter showers, turn taps off while brushing teeth and please try to do full loads of washing…not lots of smaller loads.

Thank you for your help. Water is life.

Look what is coming to Yamba!……  A small-scale waterslide and water-based fun platform. We’re happy to help the guys doing it to get things ready. Good luck guys….looks like fun….!!!!!!

Looked like a jigsaw puzzle when it arrived…..but it’s taking shape now and hopefully this new water-based fun slide will be ready for use over the holidays. We’re told it will operate in Yamba Bay…so keep an eye out……kids having fun is always good to see!!!!!

Changing of the guard on the hardstand. The big Riv’s have headed home and now the small boats are in the yard. And if you look on the horizon….blue sky…….and still some bushfire smoke. More than 110,000 hectares of bush and grass has been on fire in the past few weeks and fires are still burning as the wind keeps changing direction.

The bush fires on the North Coast have been around for weeks now. Today they are closer than ever, but still well away from the marina. The fires are burning to the west at Ashby and to the north Woombah. There is ash in the air and everyone should keep an eye out for burning embers. Hot ash and burning material can fly for many kilometres in advance of the fire front. Strong winds are pushing the fires south.

Everyone need to be on the lookout. And when the danger passes…..all the boats will need a good clean….ash is everywhere!. Stay safe and thank god for the firies!!!!!

We have just undergone our six-monthly electrical check on the marina and it has come to our notice that a few of the new power outlets are becoming unstable because of the condition of the connection.

We strongly advise all customers use screw-in power leads. This type of lead avoids the three pin plug becoming lose with the movement of the marina. Moisture on the connecting pins can cause a short. Screw-in plugs are not expensive and are our preferred style of power connection.
